Discernment Teachings

We prepared the below teachings in 2021 as we prepared to launch another church plant, but they are still helpful explorations of discerning God’s call and plan in our lives, perhaps for engaging at Cross in new ways, or exploring God’s challenge for you in other areas of your life. We hope you enjoy and are helped by them.

Our first teaching explains what discernment is, and especially considers how we practice discernment.

Our second teaching features Christian and Joel considering how to think about, and discern, prophetic or potentially prophetic challenges in our lives.

For our third teaching, listen in as Pastors Joel and Andrea talk about situational discernment. They will discuss discernment in the details of our lives as well as discernment in this unique time as we come out of a year of pandemic.

Pastor Joel and Deacon Cheryl discuss discernment as hearing Gods voice and coming into a deeper sense of our identity in Christ. Much of discernment comes from understanding who we are and being patient to wait to learn more about how our circumstances are forming discernment.
