We will watch clips from Coen Brothers movies and then have a hearty discussion about how they engage with Israel, Faith, and Jesus. The brothers, Joel and Ethan Coen, were born and raised as Jews in St. Louis Park, Minnesota in the late 1950s. Jewish and Christian themes are subtly and powerfully woven into many of their films. What are they trying to say? Come, learn, and discuss. Clips will include: True Grit, The Big Lebowski, Burn After Reading, O Brother Where Art Thou?, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, No Country For Old Men, A Serious Man, and Hail Caesar. (Some clips will have mature language.) Snacks provided.
