Wrestling with God
The imagery from this weeks passage in Genesis was vivid. Pastor Joel encouraged either drawings of an angelic camp or Jacob wrestling with God (see Liam’s picture below). Joel emphasized that names matter and we have seen Jacob “grab at the heal” of his life from the very beginning, and we read that his narrative was one of struggle, loss and intense circumstances. Again this week there is much to consider personally, for in the journey of faith we often find ourselves navigating bumpy terrain of our own making and of others. I wonder what it looks like for you to grab tightly to “The God of Jacob” in the midst of your story?
