Christ the King Sunday

The last Sunday of our church year is called: Christ the King Sunday, a title with great truth. Even though we here in MN are looking at a December with increased restrictions, we face this moment with hope - we have a King who is just and mighty! I love the phrasing from the Advent lessons in Godly Play (this next week lesson) which says, “A King is coming, but he is not the kind of king people thought was coming. This King had no army, no great house, and no riches. This King was a baby born in a barn. The King who was coming is still coming. This is full of mystery.” And while our King did not come with the trappings of an earthly King, we know he is worthy, and someday we will worship him in new creation seated on his glorious thrown, perhaps like you see below.
