Eyes and Ears
In our Genesis narrative, this week we meet Hagar and her son Ishmael. Sarai takes God’s promise into her own hands and gives her handmaid Hagar to her husband that, “I might have a child through her.” Well, this solution is hard to comprehend in our time and was not the Lord’s plan in that time either. Hagar does indeed have a baby boy, but this causes such strife; Hagar is treated cruelly by Sarah and she flees. In the desert Hagar meets the Lord and in response Hagar declares His kindness in the text in Genesis 16:13:
So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are a God of seeing,” for she said, “Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.”
Be encouraged church we have a God that sees, all people. Notice the eyes and ears in the pictures below as you rest in this truth.
