God Covenants with Abram
Father Pete invited pictures of 2 images this week: stars - for God promised Abram descendants as many as the stars in the sky, or secondly drawings of the great moment in Genesis where God makes a covenant with Abram - seen below in this first picture of the smoking pot and animals. He taught about how this is not just an agreement or a serious plan, a covenant is a binding life altering promise, like marriage. Abram would have been familiar with the ways, the expectations, and the severity of the terms, but God does not only set the terms, but HE is the one that promises to fulfill them. This is amazing and sets up God’s faithfulness to Abram, his descendants, and to the nations (whom He promises to bless through Abram). This is revolutionary, this is indeed life altering - for all generations!
