John the Baptist
“Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord!” Was the cry of John the Baptist, and he invited people to wash, to be baptized. His was a baptism of repentance inviting a nearness to God the Father. This week Pastor Christian suggested we make drawings of this locust eating camel hair wearing messiah forerunner. His call, his ministry is worth considering. John the Baptist was a miraculous baby born to aging parents and it was told by Gabriel that he would, “turn the hearts of the fathers to their children.” I wonder how invitation to repentance and forgiveness makes this true? And how does that work (of forgiveness), prepare the way of the Lord?
